For this work, I swapped roles with my friend and long-time collaborator composer Eric Whitcre; he wrote the text and I wrote the music.
Published by Walton/GIA.

Commissioned by the Turtle Creek Chorale, this is a quasi-parody cowboy song with a fierce anti-gun message.

WAS IT WORTH IT? (TTBB, unaccompanied)
Text by Charles Anthony Silvestri
I wrote this song to perform in traditional Irish music sessions, but arranged it for men's chorus. It fits well in the genre of immigrant songs of the 19th c. lamenting how life in the new world was as hard as in the old. Premiered at the 2019 Missouri Music Educators Association conference.
Manuscript.
